State v. Ha
Client charged with First Degree Murder. Client was found Not Guilty by Reason of Mental Illness by a jury. This was the only the third (and currently the last time) a defendant was acquitted at trial using a Mental Illness Defense in Minnesota in a jury trial.

State v. Johnson
A pretrial appeal challenging the indictment resulted in 23 murder charges being dismissed by the Minnesota Supreme Court. Mr. Paule was part of the defense team that discovered and challenged the prosecutorial misconduct that occurred in the grand jury proceedings.

State v. Pendelton
Client was charged with Attempted Murder and First Degree Assault. Mr. Paule asserted Self Defense and Defense of Dwelling (a.k.a. the Castle Doctrine) at trial. Client was subsequently acquitted of all charges following a jury trial.

Client charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree involving a child. Client was acquitted of all charges following a jury trial.

State v. Gbala
Client charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree following an encounter with a woman he knew prior. Client acquitted of all charges following a jury trial.

State v. Rodriguez
Mr. Paule represented the defendant in this case who was charged with several counts of murder, and was tried jointly with his co-defendant Edward Santiago. The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled in this case that co-defendants with mutually antagonistic defenses must not be tried together. This case is the seminal case on joint trials in Minnesota.

State v. Davis
Client was charged with Felon in Possession in state court after he was arrested and his DNA was found on the gun in question. After a jury trial, Mr. Davis was acquitted of all charges.

State v. Eady
Mr. Paule represented Mr. Eady who was charged with various drug offenses after his car was stopped by the police and searched. After a jury trial, Mr. Eady was found not guilty of all charges.

State v. McGrath
Client was charged with drug offenses following a search of her home pursuant to a search warrant. Mr. Paule successfully argued that the drug task force acted inappropriate and provided false information to the court in its application for a search warrant. The case was subsequently dismissed.

State v. Chrz
Client was a police officer charged with assaulting a person in his custody following a lawful arrest. Mr. Paule’s representation resulted in all charges being dismissed prior to trial.

State v. Cho
Client was charged with Malicious Punishment of a Child after bringing his son to the emergency room. Client was subsequently found not guilty by a jury at trial. Subsequently, all Child Protection matters were resolved in client’s favor.

In Re T.S.
Client was charged as a juvenile with Criminal Sexual Conduct in the Third Degree. Client was acquitted of all charges following a court trial and release from custody.
